“La virée légendaire” (Legendary trip)

The ‘Virée légendaire’ is a tour in the lower valley of Le Giffre.
Imagine ...
You are peacefully travelling along a mountain road when suddenly a character standing in the middle of the road stops the bus. It is
La Fouèse, Philomène or one of the other actor-guides from the open air museum.
They will lead you on a journey between legend and reality where humor is king, to discover the Haute Savoie heritage.

“La virée des potins mondains”
(Society gossip trip)

An unusual tour along country roads led by a “completely loopy aristocratic lady”.

If you like culture shock, humour and country roads, this trip is for you.
A trip to unknown areas of the mountain, through wonderful scenery, with a commentary from your extraordinary ‘guide’.

Tasting (produce can be purchased, if desired) at the Château of Beauregard farm.

Coach tour lasting about 2 hours.
Depart 2.30pm from Saint-Jeoire.

Château of Beauregard farm

Château of Beauregard farm in Saint-Jeoire purpose you a guided tour of the cheese dairy on Fridays, all year round, starting at 7pm.
Booking ahead is essential.
They also sell cheese: Reblochon, Tomme, Abondance and other local produce. Daily (except Sundays) all year round, 9am to 12 noon & 5 to 7pm.
The farm enjoys a lovely, leafy setting next to the imposing Château of Beauregard.

Helixa, snail farm

This snail farm, located in Viuz-en-Sallaz, is open all year round and offers visitors guided tours, tasting sessions, produce for sale and organised events.
Tours take place Monday – Friday (5 to 7.30pm), Wednesdays (2.30 to 7.30pm) & Saturdays (9am to 12 noon).
Groups of friends or families can all have a fascinating time at the Snail Farm!

Old sawmill with water wheel

The old sawmill in Mégevette, with its water powered wheel, lays on a really interesting guided tour.
There is an historical slide show and commentaries on the local traditions and way of life.
A truly memorable experience in the very heart of the Haute-Savoie.
Tours only on Friday mornings (10.30am) in July to August.
