A heritage to discover
If you visit Mégevette, you can admire in the village many houses with traditional architecture.
In the centre of the village, take the time to discover St Nicolas's churche, a real masterpiece.
In winter, Megevette invites you on its cross-country ski area in a traditional, family setting.
The Mégevette cross-country ski area consists of a black trail, a red trail, a blue trail and a green trail, totaling 22km of groomed and marked trails. They are open to all comers, beginners or experienced skiers, as is the cross-country ski centre in the village centre (tel. 04.50.35.74.77).
Next to the cross-country skiing area, you can practise snowshoes on the pedestrian tracks which rise on each side of the Risse or on those in bottom of valley.
In summer, it is also a great destination for those who like mountains, peace and nature.
To explore the mountain pastures around Mégevette there are a number of waymarked footpaths suitable for seasoned hikers and family groups.
There are 10 mountain bike signposted circuits around Mégevette, on roads, trails and footpaths through forests and alpine meadows.
Dive into the karstic country! The caves of Mégevette are known nationally because of their complex network. They are also home to several species of bats. There are organised excursions to these caves with experienced potholers and guides

Go up in the world! The limestone cliffs in the area are ideal for rock climbing. The Bellosset site is located just as you come into Mégevette, above the Risse Gorges. The “Pierre à l'Aigle" site with its boulders is located on the other side of the village, on the way to the Col de Jambaz. For introduction, the site of Plaine Joux and the Rocher de Porte are 15 minutes drive.
Do you do a bit of fishing? Then you will like Le Risse, a well stocked torrent that flows along the valley floor. It makes for an interesting fishing experience – turbulent sections (steep banks, deep pools) and portions calmer.
